Just like last month, and a bit earlier this month, here’s a post dedicated to the book haul I’m ending the month with. I got back to Orlando last night after cramming a 10 hour drive into 14. Ali was finishing up getting her bi-monthly massage so I was initially greeted by three packages. Inside I found these:
- The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert by Rosaria Champagne Butterfield
- Why Cities Matter by Stephen T. Um & Justin Buzzard
- Schaeffer on The Christian Life by William Edgar
- The Promised One: Seeing Jesus in Genesis by Nancy Guthrie
- The Lamb of God: Seeing Jesus in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers & Deuteronomy by Nancy Guthrie
- The Wisdom of God: Seeing Jesus in the Psalms and Wisdom Books by Nancy Guthrie
- Mere Apologetics by Alister McGrath
- God or Godless? by Randel Rauser & John Loftus
- Romans (Teach The Text Commentary Series) by C. Marvin Pate
The bottom three were courtesy of Baker Books, and so you’ll be seeing reviews of them, probably sometime in May or June. The top 5 (minus Why Cities Matter) are from a Westminster Bookstore order financed by my last sale of a Standard Theme. So, book probation continues and I’ve ended the first quarter without directly purchasing a book that wasn’t from a gift certificate or a tax write off (I was able to pick up Moo’s Romans commentary last week for work for only $25 new!). It’s actually worked so well, I might try to extend it for another 3 months. I definitely still have plenty to read and saving the money has been great!
