As mentioned earlier, I’m migrating series descriptions and listing of the posts to their own post.
In that spirit, here’s what you need to know about the Reshaping Christian Habits series:
This came about as part of something I am promoting for additional income here in Florida called the 90-day challenge. I liked their concept as part of something that you could approach spiritually as well and use the idea of starting a 90-day challenge as a way to jump start areas of your Christian growth where you may have gotten lazy. If it can work well for a company promoting health and wellness products for the body, I think it can be even more valuable for those of us who want to promote spiritual health and wellness as well. The posts so far are:
- Reshaping Christian Habits
- Developing A Consistent Prayer Life
- Jump Start Your Bible Reading Plan
- Games To Quit
- What’s Missing From the Gospel Commission
- An Eschatology of Christian Habits
- Justification and Motivation for Good Works
- Music and The Christian Life
- A New Way to Be Human
- The Diminished Chord of the Christian Life
- How to Be Graciously Critical (Emphasis on the “Grace” Part)
- How to Be Graciously Critical (Emphasis on the “Critical” Part)
- 20 Ways to Build the Habit of Affirming Others
- The Weekly Parenthesis
- Using the Compound Effect
- Resources for Reshaping Christian Habits
I’m actually not too sure where I want to go from here. Two ideas I’ve played around with are a post on renewing the heart (which is something the Spirit does in you) and a sister post on renewing the mind (which is possible once you have a renewed heart).
Another intriguing idea I’ve had is a post on Proverbs 31, but making the point that Christ is the fulfillment, so in essence it is not just girls, but everyone can aspire toward being a Proverbs 31 person since it is the ultimate personification of wisdom in the conclusion of the book of Proverbs.
The other idea I’ve had is a post on connecting your life story to the Christian story. This is a kind of mental habit you can develop so that you don’t start thinking of yourself as an autonomous actor in the drama of your life.
Beyond that, its really up to you where we take this series, so let me know what you think!
