So this was my view out the passenger window late afternoon last Friday.
If you wondering, yes, I took a picture while driving and Instagram’d it as well.
That’s ok though, there weren’t that many cars on the road at the time, and I’m more or less a professional at this sort of thing (you should see the video I shot while driving through Atlanta).
Anyway, this was my first time to experience a Tennessee October weekend since 2006 (which was the fall before I moved to Dallas).
In short, it lived up to the hype.
I spent some quality time with my parents, as well as two of my best friends.
Saturday we drove around for a little while in the afternoon, I snapped this vista just around the corner from Kenny Chesney’s riverfront house:
Incidentally, the house my dad grew up in is just right down the street, but lacks the view (and was within earshot of a mental institution).
We did a lot of eating as well on Saturday and I had barbeque and mac n’ cheese twice in one day (not from the same place though, that would be excessive).
As you can see, we don’t mess around when it comes to eating good (especially during football season).
I won’t comment on the Tennessee vs. Alabama game other than to say we played a great first half.
Sunday, I was able to go to church and heard a great message about how the Gospel shapes our lives as the church in society. You can listen to it yourself here.
After that, Steven, Matt, and I headed up to the Kentucky border and went 4-wheeling in the mountains.
I know we should have taken a group picture, but we were up there to get scenic pictures, and so didn’t think of it.
Steven did take this one though:
I don’t go four wheeling in the mountains that often, but when I do, I wear a pink polo shirt.
When we got to the top just before sunset, we were greeted with this view:
So, all in all, I basically got an entire Tennessee October in about 48 hours.
Not too bad, and now I’m back in cloudy, rainy Florida as a hurricane lingers off to my right.
