A Kony 2012 Response

Two weeks ago, I linked to the Kony 2012 video. It’s gone viral since then (not of course, because I shared it) and the maker of the video made the news for less than exemplary reasons.

Today, I wanted to share a response video that is much shorter and cost nothing to make. It’s from New Hope Uganda (HT: Justin Taylor) and you can read a more in depth explanation here.

I get that as Christians and as individuals we need to forgive people and that God is a God of mercy. However, as a society we have a responsibility to hold people accountable for their crimes. This video makes it sound like we just simply forgive people like Kony and leave them alone. I think that is unbiblical and irrational.

Hey man, didn’t mean to leave you hanging here, but I think you’re right. I think there’s definitely a both/and and I’m interested to see what kind the next official KONY video says.

      How’s Texas these days?
