While we were gone last week, some prizes came in the mail:
- 1 and 2 Thessalonians (ZECNT)
- Acts (ZECNT)
- Colossians & Philemon (ZECNT)
This keeps my collection of my collection of Zondervan Exegetical Commentaries on The New Testament current, but also means I’ve got 7 to review now! At least I got James done a while back, so check that out to get a feel for the series.
I was also given access to several titles on NetGalley thanks to Baker Academic:
- Simon Peter In Scripture And Memory: The New Testament Apostle in The Early Church
- Calvin and The Reformed Tradition: On The Work of Christ and The Order of Salvation
- The Mystery of God: Theology for Knowing the Unknowable
I’ve already started digging into Simon Peter In Scripture And Memory and it’s been very interesting so far!
Along with all that, I won a giveaway from Joey Cochran’s blog and he sent me Creature of the Word: The Jesus Centered Church. I’m excited to dig into this soon, but I need to finish a couple of others.
Lastly, I ordered two books:
- The Kingdom of God (Theology in Community)
- Reading Scripture With The Church Fathers
The latter I got before I found out about the Church Fathers reading group, so its very timely!

I thought you said you hoped to slow down your reading? 🙂
Maybe that was wishful thinking 😉
