When I first started writing on here, I had been blogging for a while, but mostly as journals entries. When I was a freshman in college, there was no Facebook at that time (it arrived by spring semester though) but everyone had a Xanga it seemed.
Side note: Two of my roommates and I actually beat Mark Zuckerburg to the main Facebook idea. We thought it would be helpful to have a site with everyone’s directory picture, but that also had their relational status. I still have all the pics saved on my computer (TMI probably). Anyway, between us we lacked the technical skills to make it a reality, and also went to a school that was too small to really launch it anyway. But it’s a good feeling to know you had a billion dollar idea before the founder did.
So, Xanga. Anyway, I Xanga’d for quite a while and then blogged on Myspace for a time. But then shut that down when I moved here to Texas. It was then I started up on WordPress, and also after a semester here started actively “thinking theologically” in blog form. At the time it was the Marturo blog, but with a little morphology now here we are.
I originally didn’t pay any attention to post length, but after a while, when no one really read anything I wrote I started realizing 1500 words of at times dense philosophizing didn’t make for the best online consumption. So I tried to keep it to 1000 words on those types of posts.
Now I am trying to introduce shorter thoughts, and even get back into journaling. The last extended journal entries involved telling the story of Ali and I. Before that it was bullet point updates. At this point I am trying to integrate it all. Micro-blogging happens on Tumblr. Macro and everything in between it seems will take place here.
So, that’s the explanation if you start seeming what seem like just random journal type updates.

Perhaps if we were to show facebook the site we made we could get jobs there. Or our lack of technical skills will prevent that from happening. I think we as a group had a more than one billion dollar idea but lacked resources to pull any of them off. At any rate, I look forward to seeing this site active again.
I checked the other day and Geocities no longer exists, so now there’s no trace of the site, for better or for worse I guess. Thanks for stopping by, hopefully I can get back into the journaling routine.
Short is good. I haven’t usually been good at short. Trying to head that way more.
